Terms

Terms of use for CertiClean

These terms cover your use of CertiClean at coatoexcel.com. The central one: the tool supports your review of a certificate, and the decision about the material stays with you and your qualified person.

By using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not upload documents.

Definition

What the service is, and is not

The service
CertiClean reads a certificate of analysis that you upload, compares each result with the specification printed on it, and returns the outcome with a batch log line. It is a working aid. It is not a validated system, it has no electronic signatures, audit trail or access control, and it makes no claim of validation or of 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

Results can contain errors, including misread numbers from scans and limits that were read differently from how a person would read them. Compare every flagged row, and any row you rely on, with the original certificate.

Steps

How the terms apply, in order

From upload to decision.

  1. You upload documents you may upload

You confirm that you have the right to upload the document and to have it processed as the Privacy page describes.

  2. We process it and return a result

The result is returned as is, together with notes about anything that could not be read or judged.

  3. You review the result

You check flagged rows, and the rows you depend on, against the original certificate.

  4. You and your qualified person decide

Whether to accept, quarantine, retest or release material is decided by you under your own quality system. Nothing the service shows is that decision.

  5. You keep your own record

The batch log in your browser is a working copy. Your controlled batch record belongs in your own quality system.

Acceptable use

What you must not do

  • Upload forged, altered or fabricated documents, or documents you have no right to upload.
  • Use the service to present a certificate as checked when it has not been reviewed by a person who is responsible for that decision.
  • Circumvent or overload the free allowance, the conversion endpoint or any other limit.
  • Use the conversion endpoint other than through this website without our agreement.
  • Upload material that is unlawful or that contains malware.
Responsibility

Accuracy, liability and changes

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that results are complete or correct, that a certificate is genuine, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from decisions made on the basis of the service, including release, rejection or use of material, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions at the prices shown on the Pricing page. Billing questions go to [email protected]. We may change these terms; the version on this page applies from the day it is published.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I use CertiClean to approve a batch?

No. It shows what the printed limits say about the printed results. Approval is a decision for you and your qualified person under your own quality system.

Can I upload a certificate I have edited?

No. Forged, altered or fabricated documents are not allowed, and neither are documents you have no right to upload.

What if a result shown by CertiClean is wrong?

Compare it with the original certificate and rely on the original. Reading errors can happen, especially on scans. If you find one, write to [email protected] so it can be looked at.

Is there a warranty?

No. The service is provided as is, and we do not warrant that results are complete or correct.

Who owns the files and the results?

You keep whatever rights you have in the documents you upload and in the files you download. We process the documents only to return the result to you.

Can I use the results in my records?

You may keep downloaded files as working copies. They are not a controlled record, and the service is not a validated system.

Can I call the conversion endpoint from my own scripts?

Not without our agreement. The endpoint is meant for use through this website. Write to [email protected] if you have a use that needs more.

Are subscriptions refundable?

Subscriptions are monthly. Write to [email protected] for any billing question, including refunds.

Do these terms change?

They may. The version on this page applies from the day it is published.
